Travis Kelce dishes on Taylor Swift lyrics, botched high-five in Argentina
View Date:2025-01-09 07:46:22
Despite neither one playing a football game this past weekend, there was no shortage of topics for brothers Jason and Travis Kelce to discuss on the latest episode of their "New Heights" podcast, which premiered Wednesday on YouTube.
Of course, both Kelces took advantage of the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs bye weeks to get out of the house -- with Travis making a much-publicized journey south of the equator to watch Taylor Swift perform in Argentina on her Eras Tour.
"It's crazy how many sold-out shows she has and the venues she keeps going to," Travis gushed on the podcast, estimating that around 65,000 to 70,000 people were at each of the three concerts in Buenos Aires.
"The show was even more electric knowing that I had a little bit more to enjoy it for," he said. "And yeah, Taylor absolutely ripped it. She killed it. Looked like she was having some fun up there."
Travis Kelce on being referenced in 'Karma'
One of the viral moments from Swift's shows in Buenos Aires was her slightly altering the lyrics to one of her songs to include a reference to Kelce: "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs."

Did Travis know it was coming?
"I mighta had a little bit of a clue (ahead of time)," he admitted when asked by brother Jason. "But definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me.
"I was like ... she really just said that."
Travis Kelce on botched high-five with Taylor Swift's dad
The Chiefs tight end had a fantastic vantage point to watch the concerts, standing just off stage -- and for a while, at least, hanging out with Swift's father.
"You also left Scott hanging," Jason Kelce reminded his brother as they showed a short video clip of Swift's dad looking to give a distracted Travis a high-five.
"Ah Mr. Swift, I apologize, big guy," Travis said. "I missed that. I never miss a high-five too. Big high five guy."
Jason Kelce on 'Thursday Night Football' cameo
While Travis was traveling the globe during his bye week, Jason made a much shorter jaunt to Chicago, where he attended the "Thursday Night Football" game between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
He was invited to spend some time in the production truck with the technical crew and in broadcast booth with announcers Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit.
"It was mind-blowing to see the operation that happens for a game and how seamless and professionally it all is done," Jason said.
Kelce brothers' Christmas song debuts
The two also poked a little fun at themselves for a new duet they sang on a holiday-themed album the Philadelphia Eagles have released for charity.
"A Philly Special Christmas Special" features one track with the Kelce brothers performing the song "Fairytale of Philadelphia," which was just released to the public on Wednesday.
"I can't wait for everybody to absolutely chop me down and make fun of me for how I sing. It should be fantastic," Travis said.
Jason Kelce tabbed one of 'Sexiest Men Alive'
Despite Jason's low profile -- on the football field at least -- as an offensive lineman, he's still very easily recognized off the field. He said while he previously only had people come up to him in public in Philadelphia, he's now being approched no matter where he is.
Jason's national profile got an even greater boost this past week when he was named as a finalist for People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue. Although he lost out to eventual winner Patrick Dempsey, Jason said it was a little odd to be mentioned in the same sentence with the likes of Timothee Chalamet, Jamie Foxx and Lenny Kravitz.
"All the Dad Bods out there are ecstatic about this selection," he quipped.
Chiefs vs. Eagles in prime time
And of course, the Kelce brothers also discussed a little football. This week will be a monumental one for the Kelce family because Jason and Travis will play against each other for the first time since ... well, last season's Super Bowl.
The Week 11 game has Jason's 8-1 Eagles traveling to face Travis' 7-2 Chiefs in Kansas City on "Monday Night Football."
