View Date:2025-01-09 07:53:44
Following last month’s iOS 17 update, Apple has premiered its latest major update with new features.
The iOS 17.1 update is now downloadable for most newer generation iphones.
The latest update for the operating system has added changes to the AirDrop and StandBy features.
The company said some features may be unavailable in some regions or on Apple devices.
Additionally, the update improved and resolved bug issues such as unresponsive keyboards and the names of incoming callers not appearing while on another call, Apple said.
After releasing the iPhone 15 in September, Apple launched iOS 17 with additions and upgrades to features like live voicemail screening and FaceTime. Among these changes was the ability to create new custom visuals for calls from a contact.

AirDrop transfers now possible out of typical range over the internet
Users can now transfer photos and videos from their camera roll even if they step out of the AirDrop range as long as they are connected to the internet.
New options to manage StandBy clock display feature
The last major update introduced the StandBy feature, which turns on a clock display when your phone is plugged in and turned to its side. Now iOS 17.1 offers new control options for when the display turns off.
Apple Music adds new cover art and expands favorites collection
With iOS 17.1, Apple Music users can now access new cover art collections with designs that change colors to better reflect a playlist’s vibe.
Plus, the favorites section can now include songs, albums and playlists that can easily be filtered in the user library and song suggestions now appear at the bottom of playlists.
