Hooters closes underperforming restaurants around US: See list of closing locations
View Date:2025-01-09 18:53:08
At least 44 "underperforming" Hooters restaurants have been permanently closed in 14 states across the nation in response to "pressure from current market conditions," the chain told USA TODAY.
Hooters will continue to open locations domestically and internationally while launching Hooters frozen products at grocery stores.
"Ensuring the well-being of our staff is our priority in these rare instances," the statement issued Monday says. "This brand of 41 years remains highly resilient and relevant. We look forward to continuing to serve our guests at home, on the go and at our restaurants here in the U.S. and around the globe."
The company did not clarify which Hooters locations closed or share a timeline for the closures, but USA TODAY has worked to cross-reference restaurant locations that were listed online in February with a list of locations online as of Tuesday.
USA TODAY Network reporters around the country found dozens of Hooters restaurants shuttered this week, including in Florida, Texas, Kentucky and Indiana.
