AMITE, La. (AP) — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of a 20-year-old man who escaped a south Louisiana jail over Memorial Day weekend.
Anyone with information about Jamarcus Cyprian’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, authorities said Thursday. Tips also can be submitted to CrimeStoppers of Tangipahoa by calling 800-554-5245 or visiting their website, www.tangicrimestoppers.com.
Cyprian was one of four inmates who escaped the jail through a corroded piece of chain link fence, crawling under a wall gap and scaling two razor-wire fences. Authorities said a lack of supervision, inadequate head counts, manpower shortages and insufficient experience and training contributed to the escape.
The three other escapees have been recaptured.
